7ins sierra diff to 7.5ins ? fitment

Hi all i am having trouble with my 7ins diff but have the chance of a 7.5ins diff has anyone fitted a 7.5 ins diff in a MK indy
can the mounting on the diff be cut down

The 7.5 will fit with 3 of the existing chassis brackets, both lower mounting points and top mount drivers side are the same .The extra half inch is on the top mount passenger side .I just rewelded a new bracket to suit, as for cutting half inch from the diff casing i dont know. The 7.5 is also 10 or 12mm longer on the nose so the propshaft will need to move foward and still have some movement left on the gearbox.
