hi all has anyone ever built a locost and used bare wood with the old yaught varnish for the interior? ie dash, behind seats, tunnel and sides of interior??
just thinking out loud as want it to be nice for the little lady to sit in and the soft paddin too easy for her to dig her nails in while terrified in the seat beside me!
Thanks in advance

The car shown in the previous pic is an RCB77; German Sevenesque. You could look at their website for more photos, but I think this pic is the only one showing wood interior.

Have a look around the junk shops for a 1930's burr walnut veneered bed head board. I made a dash for a mate many years ago using one. Beats using veneer.

Probably more practical and harder wearing to use laminate (Formica for example) Trouble would be to buy a small peice not an 8 x 4 or bigger sheet!
Tim
ps does europa do laminate ones?

The laminate flooring that comes in planks about 1/4 inch thick can come in some very exotic looking woods(fake but durable) and you can probably get single damaged pieces or possible end cuts from a supplier.

Hi All,

ok invested just over £15 in a piece of hardwood window sill bull nosed wood. its 290mm deep but unfortunatly its 19mm thick. did not cost me too much money so i am going to have a play with it and see what i can come up with. Also got about 2.15m of the stuff so might even have enough for 2 just incase i mess up the 1st one. then when i mess up the second third and so on i can always go and buy more.

Cheers

Brian
