it's funny, i used to love it, back when it wasn't overly safe.

imo, they need to revert back to the year before they introduced the grooved tires

Yeah, less downforce and more mechanical grip , (slicks) , so that the cars can race close together ,and overtake.......

tyre stops back
fuel stops out
manual gearshifts
no traction/launch control
and slicks
active suspension in (the sparks looked cool)

let driver mistakes count

well i know a much cheaper way to make it a bit more exciting...!!
random oil slicks and various hazards dotted around the track, and they keep it on the box... god only knows why

Bother, I missed it. I was welding radiator brackets and forgot. I can't see Montoya without bursting out laughing since watching the clip of him beaning himself on the tv camera and blaming the guy for it. Why don't they show Motogp and Superbikes on terrestrial tv and stop pandering to these prima donnas.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

Funny that. Everyone has an opinion on what F1 should be and everyone says that the F.I.A. doesn't listen to the fans... so when they ask what F1 should be this gets slated too. Sounds like they can't win to me.

F1 has been loosing fans for a long time now,its all about money,no fans = no money=no race.
in the mansel/prost/senna era it was worth watching, might be worth listening to those that pay the bills to find out why its going down the pan

Yeah, I got back from my hockey game and clicked on the TV, caught the last four laps, that was all I needed to see.

Sure, you can whine about F1 being boring, but I was thrilled when I saw the man from Finland out in front, finally I think it's a season w/o a red car and German boring everyone to death.

Oh, and you think that's boring, come over here and try to figure out why the hell millions of people like NASCAR, heavy, poor-handling cars making a big left turn for 3 hours (and that's an exciting race), and these fans don't even know what formula 1 is (honestly).

Large circular traks acting as a centrafuge, with large poor handling cars, equals large crashes.

Drive cars straight at brick walls and I wouldn't be surprised if the average american would love it and make a sport out of it.

Boring F1

I reckon they should bring a weight penalty system for all point scoring cars.

starting with 40kg for 1st down to 5kg for 8th

Cmon guys-
British driver banned for cheating.

Crash in practice lap,
driver penalised,
Multiple car pile up early in race,
World champions car badly damaged,
New driver leading,
huge battle for 4,5,6,7 place
Gung Ho overtake by J Trulli
Gung Ho overtake by Heidfeld
Gung Ho overtake by Webber *2

Different three drivers on podium
World championship leader finishes fourth
World champion finishes 7th.

You surely cant say that it was predictable?

Are we all starting to sound like our Fathers or what ! I remember him talking about Clarke and Moss and the rest of the greats, the good old days being much better/more skill.

I think its just two things. Progress and old age creeping up on us all !

No - I watched a bit of DTM over the weekend (German touring cars). Excellent racing, in-car pictures, etc. much more entertaining, even though the cars are spaced out as much as the F1's are. Mind you - those DTM cars are FAST!

The other day I was watching some karting - not sure what championship, but the drivers all seemed to be in their teens - and even that was more interesting.

divide that by what? 78 laps?

here lies the problem, while there are some almost interesting bits, nothing actually exciting.

10 laps of paint drying for one lap with a fly landing in the paint.

i was buzzing my arse off, in an irish bar in gran canaria, throughly enjoying mclarens astounding performance. Raikonnen could've done the 2nd pit stop for fun if he wanted! Amazing performance, demonstrates the incredible advances that mclaren have made in recent months/years.

as someone once said, theres nothing wrong with a procession so long as the lead car is black and silver
