Origins of Usernames

Right - 'fess up time.

All of you with contrived / made up usernames, how did you get them ?

There must be a story behind every weird username, said the man with 'zilspeed' on his birth certificate

Smart51 is the name I go by on the smart owners club website. It was a matter of choosing a name that I could remember that wasn't used already.

NS Dev is just short for Nathaniel Seviour (my name!) Developments, the name that used to get stuck on anything that I made for other people

My real name is Bishop Horatio T. Mouseplaster, and I use 'david jenkins' solely to confuse.

i once foolishly said 'toodle pip' as i left the office one day and it sorta stuck

that was at a previous office and no one where i work now actually know's about it, but i like it so it stayed as an internet alias...

my name's Nick and I have a real soft spot for the Pug 205GTi....Nick205. It was also my name on the Peugeot Sport Club forum, although I lost interest in that as it got more and more diluted.

Incidentally I seem to remember Ned being on there as Ned as well

My boss when I was on work experience at school bought me a key ring back from mombasa but sadly "Geoff" got lost in translation and it was carved with "Jambo" on one side and "Jeef" on the other - I think jambo means hello?! Anyone?

I have had the nickname of Fozzie since primary school! I think most people with the surname of Foster get called Fozzie. My brother neice and nephew all got called Fozzie.
In my case it has stuck, but, I like it,... which is nice

wheelsinsteadofhooves

posted on 12/7/05 at 01:27 PM Reply With Quote
my mates were looking for a name for some club nights they were going to put on a few years ago. they were talking about names in a bar in manchester and someone they knew overheard them and thought they said "wheels instead of hooves". it sort of stuck ever since and is used for most things done by myself and my mates. i thought the "wheels" idea, and the development over other forms of transport, was rather appropiate too.
the nights are still going - mainly at the electroworks in angel but all over london town (and once in new york/japan/barcelona to name but a few). come along.

I used to be one of two airmen at Boscombe down, we both got stuck with sweeping the hanger floor on Friday mornings,

Our boss was a big Red Dwarf fan so we were both Scutters, mine just stuck.

Zen Archer is a track from my favorite album "A Wizard a true Star" by Todd Rundgren.

Rundgren says that Zen Archer was the nemisis of a, always naked, Comic strip heroine Phoebe Zeitgeist, who appeared in an American magazine "The Evergreen Review"

I was trying to think of an email address years ago and I like Imprezas and Scooby Doo, so Scoobyiscool seemed quite appropriate. Someone already had that though so I added the '2' in the middle and I haven't bothered to change it since

Mines a boring reason. When i signed up for hotmail thats the only name it let me have. And a bloke at work keeps saying "book him Danno" to me. After all my name is Dan and i am a man ( so ive been told). Just with a rastafarian touch. "Danozeman".

Im called V8dan on the forums iv signed on to recently. Should have changed it on here after id been away from here for a couple of years so nobody noticed.
