Clutch slip
Has anyone had problems with a 2l zetec on a type 9 box where the clutch is slipping?
I have a lightened tiger flywheel and a bog standard pinto clutch (which is new) and its as though it can't take the power
Would an uprate clutch be the next step or does it sound as though somehting is a miss?

Is the cable new? Mine snapped last week and I ftted one of these new fangles teflon things, bloody brilliant, I used to get a bit of slip on fast
gear changes, totally down to the old cable, the new one has made the clutch so light - impressed
If you can keep you head, whilst all others around you are losing theirs, you are not fully aware of the situation

The whole lot is new, it just seems the clutch can't take the power When you put your foot flat to the floor in second/third sometimes fourth
the revs fly up but the car holds back, i know it is the clutch but i can't see why it's doing it. I have tried altering the clutch cable
to see if it makes any difference but no joy..

I read somewhere that this may happen if there is grease or impurities on the clutch lining.

how new is the clutch and flywheel? they will need bedding in when brand new.....

everything was put together with great care as i have had grease/oil on a clutch before and I know the problems it causes.
clutch and fly wheel is brand spankin new, How long would it take to bed them in??
