Anyone using MBE ecu on a zetec?

Trying to get my new engine started but all I am getting is backfire, timing issues...

cams are timed roughly to the correct deg. but there is nothing happening the right way...

???

engine is a 2.0l silvertop zetec... having great difficulty finding any help online... which is tricky and frustrating in understanding what is going on.

can anyone shed any light on the basic settings for the zetec...

cranking ignition is 44.9
and gen tps vs spd ign is 23 deg

which all seems incorrect... but I am confused as to my next step...

hope someone can shed some light...
many thanks in advance

ECU is an MBE 970

As wasa says, check the coil wiring is the right way round. Mine did the same with megajolt because i had the 2 coil wires the wrong way round.
