Reynard Inverter

http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/news/default.asp?storyId=19209

Reynard to build a blade / busa powered BEC, with an electric reverse, fully enclosed body, 2 seats and it'll pass SVA.

Place your bets on a likely price tag!!

I think it will probably be a bit more than 35k

But by the sounds of things it will give the top spec Radical and Juno drivers a bit of a scare.

I was reading through and thought it sounded pretty mad, then got to the 4g lateral force and my eyes literally went that is madness...

ETA more pics can be found here

Im a little suprised at how 'rounded' the surfaces appear i was expecting something with lots of flat surfaces (like a radical)

SVA claims are a bit bold.

I was worried about front light heights, but actually there are no lights! the edges on that spoiler don't look so clever. No fog light. Steering wheel edges. E-marked belts (I don't think so). I bet the handbrake isn't approvable.

Damn I am one sad puppy.

Performance claims are also very optimistic, all that downforce and only 175 bhp to push it along is not going to equate to F1 type speeds anywhere!

Hi

For those going to the Autosport show the car is on the 750mc stand 7250. Adrian himself was there on Thursday.

Cheers Matt

I sold Dr Reynard 4 1000rr engine kits and saw the car on Thursday its awesome
the car has 1.5 tonne downforce and will get 4g lateral force
Adrian and his aero dynamics man explained it all to me yesterday
well over my head

As mentioned above, I don't see how that much downforce can be pushed through the air at 150mph by a sub 200bhp engine. I guess it may produce 1.5ton of downforce at max wing settings in the wind tunnel, but would need to be a hell of lot less when trimmed out to hit 150mph, still seems rather a lot to me though.
