Leeds - Parking & What to do??

Me and the boss (her indoors) are in Leeds next week, quite possibly the dearest parking we have come across, so starter for 10 -

parking - city centre parking which isnt £5.40 for 2 hours, ie walking distance to the shops etc.

What to do - The Armoury is on our list, anything else worth a punt? venues, bars, eating etc ??

The boss is on the internet looking, and I know Locost will be quicker ......go go go

Same at crossgates, about £2 into town, but there arent that many parking places. There are residential roads within a few mins though if it comes to it, that what i did last time for a day trip to york.

Armouries is good, there is a multistory there too that isnt ridiculous.

My favourite eateries in the centre are fuji hiro for japanese noodles (tastier that you might expect), or curries from aagrah or akbars.

Cant advise much on bars, there is such a variety it really depends what you want. Id send you to the whitelocks though, as its a classic traditional pub (oldest in leeds). Its in an alley off briggate

Beware! Bourettes is binfectious.

Best bits about Leeds?

Well the very best bit IMHO is the road going out of Leeds towards Harrogate.

Other good bits are the roads going out towards Wetherby, Bradford and generally away from Leeds. The one going out towards York is pretty good.

I think there are some other fairly good roads out of Leeds too

runs and ducks for cover

Do you like thai food? There's an absolute gem called Thai Aroy Dee in Leeds, really cheap but the food is phenomenal.

My old 'local' is a must.

The best music pub is The Grove Inn, it's in Holbeck, a 5 minute walk from Leeds City Centre.

It's an 'old' fashioned pub, best beer in Leeds (Timothy Taylor's Landlord) and the music scene is the best.

http://www.thegroveinn.com/whats_on.html

In fact, it's the pub where Mark Knopfler started playing, when he was a cub reporter in Leeds.

You will love it!

Would second Aagrah for Indian or there used to be an Argentinian steak place that was really good when I lived there too. Best place though was called fairuz a Lebanese place in yuen it doesn't look much from the outside but the food was amazing. Pub near Aagrah and playhouse The Wardrobe used to be my favourite with live bands up stairs and downstairs most nights

Gaucho's have now opened a restaurant in Leeds. Not eaten in that one (yet), but had a steak in their Fleet Street restaurant a few years ago - was the second best lump of steak I've ever eaten, behind one I had in Texas.
