Tin top insurance - advice please
I'm hoping someone in the collective can answer this one never having been there before, so here goes....
The insurance on the tin top is due for renewal in March.
The policy covers myself and my wife.
Since taking the policy out last year the better half has, due to health issues, had her licence suspended.
It is probable that she will have it re-instated in April.
So the questions are:-
Do I re-new for both myself and the better half?
Since she hasn't been driving and won't be driving until her licence is re-instated do I have to tell the insurance company?
Do I re-new just for myself and if I want her included on the policy later is that likely to be a problem and/or extra cost?
Any other considerations?
Thanks in advance, feel free to PM me if that's better.
Cheers, Pewe10.

Did you tell your insurer about your wife's suspended license?
You have to disclose material facts such as those to insurance companies otherwise they could use that as grounds to not pay any claims.

The simplest way would be to just insure yourself for now and then add your wife to the policy when her license is restored.
They will ask the usual questions about how long she has been driving, accidents, convictions and health issues but unless they ask whether she has
had her license suspended you are not under any obligation to tell them. There is no point in making life any harder or more complicated than it is.

Just do insurance for yourself and ad your wife later. Best to be up front with any insurance company as they will use any excuse to wriggle out of
paying up should the worst happen.

Thanks for the advice.
As an aside to insurers trying to wriggle out of settling a neighbour had his cherished Escort crushed by a falling tree over the New Year.
His insurers are claiming it was "an act of God" and denying liability......

I'd get quotes for both. It might be cheaper with her named on it. It will undoubtedly cost an 'admin fee' to change it part way
through.
