Age related plate
Can anyone quote me the legal/vehicle registration/Road Traffic Act reference about qualifying for an age related plate? I understand we need at
least 2 of the 5 key components from the donor vehicle, but I really want to know where I can find this reference before the registration inspection
this thursday. Sorry if this sounds a bit cryptic.....I will let off steam in a fuller explanatory post on friday!!!

I didn't have this and got an age related plate [wish I had a Q now though!]

Mines age related and bike engined, I only had a sorn document showing my name/address and donor vehicle reg,

a lot depends on where you live in this country, Chester DVLA will issue age related because as far as he is concerned it's a new vehicle

Kit Conversions
A vehicle will retain its donor registration mark if either the original unmodified chassis or unaltered monocoque bodyshell and two other major
components are used. If a new monocoque bodyshell or chassis from a specialist kit manufacturer is used (or an altered chassis or bodyshell from an
existing vehicle) together with two major components from a donor vehicle, an age related mark will be assigned. The mark will be based on the age of
the donor vehicle. An ESVA, SVA or MSVA test will be required to register the vehicle.
Where there are insufficient parts from a donor vehicle or in cases where the original registration mark is unknown, an ESVA, SVA or MSVA certificate
will be required to register the vehicle and a 'Q' prefix registration number will be allocated.

Age related plate
Thanks everyone-I think that I now have the ammunition I hope I don't need. I have a couple of clues from the process so far that getting
allocated an age related plate may not be the straight forward event it should be. More when I can write without fear of retribution!

What happens if you use major components from a number of donors, but have docs for them all to prove thier age?

Because the emmissions test is much easier at MOT.
