Panelled / Bare?

I'm doing a Car engine Reverse FWD trike build, I'm looking to to a tube Frame, with paneled sections.

Question is will it pass the MSVA if I didn't panel it?
And would i be aloud to panel it after?

Engine would still be exposed, I'd cover electrics.

Once panels are on it will cover all of the front end / sub frame / undercarriage / part of the rear

Thanks

Depends if the trike is 'sit astride' or 'bodied'.
Definitions are in the MSVA manual.

My trike passed MSVA without body panels. I had a panel enclosing the fuel tank and one over the rear mounted engine. The gaps in my frame are small enough to keep out the sphere of doom so non of the oily bits are contactable. If all of the edges are radiused or covered, you should be OK.

So no sharp edges and i will be good?

Sphere of doom? I'm totally new to this.

I think you need to read the manual, the sphere of doom as other refer too, is to check exterior projections meet a certain radius. Build with MSVA in mind and you shouldn't go too wrong.

Section 14?

That is the correct MSVA manual.

For checking external projections, look at section 8 for un-bodied (sit-astride) vehicles and section 9 for bodied (sit in) vehicles.
