Rear brake setup fisher fury

I'm in need of a new setup for my fisher fury rear end, they currently have hispec 2pots but I burnt one out I actually cracked the piston😀
I want a set of wilwoods as these hispecs are too old and hispec service is disappointing, I'm sure the running gear is escort mk2 but the caliper mount holes match a Sierra, 13" wheels with a 256mm disc, can anyone point me in a direction to buy a kit, AB is really busy at the moment I don't want to keep hassling him! But need brakes by next weeks ppl day at blyton!

Any ideas?

So it's got Escort live axle (drum brakes originally) with an adapter kit to fit the discs/calipers?

You could try RallyDesign for some Wilwoods. Trouble would be matching what you already have to the Wilwoods in the time available. Think they do a set up to convert Escort axle to disc (I think) so it might be quickest to just get that complete. It's going to be tight time wise even then.

Alternative would be to use either the VW or Pug rear calipers but again you'd have to match up to the brackets or start from scratch.

Just a thought, do you have a brake balance system or an inertia valve in your brakes. Typically the rears do about 20% of the braking and also tend to lock up if too agressive (weight transfer to the front on braking). If the caliper bracket is a bolt on then why not swap for one of the Sierra csliper based kits, or there are others out there using the ally vw calipers.

Worth noting that people have reported issues with Hi-Spec calipers; Binding, leaking and moans about poor aftersales support.

Plenty of kits around to fit the sierra/granada rear calipers to an english/atlas axle such as;-

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Capri-Escort-13-solid-rear-disc-conversion-kit-/221642721497?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item339aef88d9

Rally design do do kits for back axles, or they also have quite good drawings of the wilwood calipers so you might be able to find some calipers that will fit straight onto your current brackets/disc's with none or small mods/spacers needed.

The link Oddified has posted is a Caprisport kit http://www.zyworld.com/caprisport/1_brakes.htm , they do a wide range of different calliper/disc combinations. But you need to check that your English axle fits their kit, they are designed for the Capri axle, my Anglia axle did not and I had to do quite a bit of faffing to get it to fit (not Caprisports fault). That said, easy fit, I managed to make mine fit with standard sierra solid discs (253mm) and XR4x4 callipers therefore no axle flange machining needed. I have paired mine with the Caprisport GTR260 front brakes and a sierra inertia valve so basically an XR4x4 full set up (on an Anglia).

If you want to go down the OEM calliper route others to look at are -

Mk2 Mania - http://leonbirchall.co.uk/index.html they also sell on ebay
Arrow engineering (they do the VW caliper version) - http://www.arrowautoengineering.co.uk/page5.htm

I've just finished my rear caliper conversion using Peugeot calipers - these are the same as the Renault and Citroen ones so loads out there.
These fit nicely under 13" wheels

Cheers for the replies, yes the hi spec after sales is crap! I've been looking at these as I want to redo the back end, this is a full kit but radial mounted, I have Ali brackets already from the hispec ones they look like a crows foot shape, I'm hoping these won't take much to fit I've looked at all the measurements like caliper dimensions which are the same as the hispec, discs are the same too......

I'm going to try some escort rs2000 rear calipers as I'm unsure of all the brake packages and Im not sure of my axle etc.... I can't add any pics on here but have a few if anybody could tell me how to upload them? The bolt holes in these calipers match the hispec ones so worth a shot before I buy a full kit. I have a brake bias adjuster so can tweek it once they're on
