Fireblade Engine AB parts dressed
As title
- 893cc SC28 Fireblade engine taken from a low mileage, approx 9000 miles, witnessed running bike.
- New AB Performance baffled billet sump with shortened oil strainer
- New AB Performance sprocket adapter
- Compression test on all 4 cylinders lowest 141 psi on cyl 1 and highest 150 psi on cyl 2
- Above test carried out by turning engine on starter motor, still fitted
- All cam lobes checked and showing no signs of wear/ oil starvation to top of engine
- Standard needles with spare "Dynojet" kit with other needle profiles and jets.
- Carbs stripped and cleaned
- Exhaust studs changed for new stainless items
- New oil filter fitted
- Airbox available if not using a back plate and foam filter.
Engine removed from running bike for race car project, change of direction means unit is for sale.
Items bought from AB performance to dress engine and make race ready.
Sump removed and gasket face cleaned, strainer removed, neck cut back 15mm and strainer re-fitted to accommodate new sump depth. Sump and baffle
fitted with fresh gasket. Photo 4.
Compression check ran before removal of engine, all cylinders below 10% of each other and high, check ran twice to confirm, results photographed and
in order of list 1-2-3-4, top to bottom.
Cam cover removed to check cam lobes for any top end oil starvation, all lobes in very good condition with no wear shown, visibly all the same as the
example photographed which was on cylinder 1 inlet.
Carbs just serviced and have standard profile needles in but "Dynojet" kit can be used to replace, AB performance to be consulted as to
which combination would suite specific application.
When removing standard exhaust some studs were seized in head, all were removed, three were drilled and tapped and stainless studs fitted. Exhaust
flanges fitted over all new studs and all fit. Photo 4.
Engine was given a good clean on the exterior and new oil filter fitted. I have a few parts from the original bike parts available if new install
requires.
This is a good honest engine ready to use, would benefit from up-rated clutch springs from Barnet if to be used in competition. These engines are
renowned for being durable and reliable and fast becoming rare to get hold of in this good low mileage condition at a reasonable price. As good as the
919cc unit with just a 1.0mm smaller bore.
Can be put on a pallet for delivery or delivered for £0.30p/ mile. Engine located 1 hour north of Carlisle.
