I'm chomping at the bit to abanden my current sh1t isp (Pipex) and will be joining Sky asap.

Pipex want £400 for me to move although there is only 2 months left on the contract.

Sky can provide me with a 16mb connection for £10 a month!

The rest are 'free'. (I pay £65 a month for my multiroom HD Sky +)

Had a call from Sky during the week asking how my recent HD install had gone... then asked if I'd be interested in getting my electric and gas off Sky!!

Unbelievable!!

We've just moved house - lost the Virgin Broadband and had to go the phoneline route with a Sky dustbin lid on the roof (no cable here !!). BT are absolutely apalling (took 10 hours on hold to thier non-uk based customer services line trying to speak to people who don't understand when things get slightly technical!) and the amount of sh1te spoof e-mails that we now get is incredible.

Certainly wouldn't recomend them if it's any use.

my mother had a load of grief with BT when she moved, paid BT to set up the router for her as she's not technicaly minded, didn't install it properly, said there was a problem with the exchange, turned out they had not activated broadband, and then sent her a bill for £100 cos they said the fault was down to her!!!! every time you phone customer services you end up with a call center in India.
Im on Tiscali, had no problems so far

TalkTalk are sh1te!
Took five months to change from Onetel (same bloody company as well!) after being promised a 5.5Mb connection. this is the downside of a rural existence. When I finally went live, it was at 2Mb. When I asked why, they apologised for lying and said that was all I could get from my exchange, as they had no plans to unbundle it!
Lying bunch of incompetent *%*TAR$"!
Steer well clear!

My next door neighbour has SKY BB... currently getting it free as it's absolutely shite, keeps getting dropouts and telephone line keeps failing too... he had no problems with Tiscali as I didn't. I'm now with TalkTalk... I would not recommend them at all.

I tried to get Sky BB when it first came out. After two and a bit months without any internet (as they couldn't migrate me from my old ISP and kept making a balls up of the order) I told them to go fornicate and went with ntl/virgin media, as they promised i'd be online within a week, which to their credit I was

I set up my parents with Tiscali when I was living there many years ago, so long ago I can't actually remember which ISP it actually was, just that they got bought by Tiscali a while later. Apart from Tiscali forgetting to take any money for a few months once (and then never asking for it to be paid as it was their fault) they've not had a single problem. My dad got a second phone line put in for his home office and got BT broadband on it for some reason, and it's rubbish...

Oh good god no. You might as well just join Tiscali, they supply most of Plusnets infrastructure and they're slightly less likely to do things like change the terms of your contract without asking you, or even crippling your service and then denying it totally. And god help you if you ever need to get hold of them...

Im on SkyMax and its fine for me, the only problems ive had is that they only use 1 DNS server which sometimes goes on the blink, which means while the connection is ok, i carnt suff the net, adding a couple of public DNS servers to my IP settings cured it.

Before that i was with Eclipse internet who were very very good, only moved to sky coz it was cheaper for a faster line.

I'm with Bulldog which is now Pipex I believe, had a small problem on change over from another ISP but no problems since, and most importantly a free phone helpline if you need it

Cheers
David
