What about a complete 1700 engine/Type 9 gearbox with twin Weber 40s? I'm hoping to have mine out of the car this weekend, but I'm probably keeping the alternator. The Type 9 isn't definitely for sale yet because I want to check the new gearbox fits first.

Probably not what you're after at all, but it's worth a go.

I've got one of the square Facet pumps sat on a shelf doing nothing - just the pump though I think, no unions etc (I'll check if you're interested) Didn't get used for long as I recall but it worked fine......... dunno £20 posted?

1300 sump is smaller than 1600. The smaller stop catches the crank or something when fitted to the larger engine. No proof but a guess says it would be ok your way round but i'd check the oil pickup pipe isn't sitting in thin air.

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. Will check and find out exactly which type I need. Not sure if its the red top round type. Going to speak to the chap who's helping me with the re-build tonight and will get back to you.

1300 sump is definately shorter and will not fit a 1600 without a beasting with a hammer.

Im after a 1300 sump for a 1390 engine so think a 1600 should be ok but not too sure about the pick up pipe.
