IT Networking guys

Hi anyone in IT or Computer networks got some brackets for 19" rack mounting a HP switch 3U high - I think?

Just get some 3mm ali/steel, bend to 90 degrees and drill

Nah....was in one of our "heritage" sites the other day and there was still an old 8 port 10BaseT hub. Was about 12U high in the 19in rack....

Bit more modern, but the Cisco 6500 NEBS chassis are about 19U....helped one of our engineers shuffle one around the other day. Christ they're heavy...

Yeah, I always used to moan when engineers said they needed two men to rack and stack one of these babies. Now I've done it for myself I can see why!!!

Back on topic, if the brackets are the same as any Cisco brackets then let me know as I can probably help.

Oops I think it's 1 or 1 1/2 U - perhaps someone can tell me 6.6cm tall also don't have any correct screws to go in the side of the switch

I've got some screws I think for those 2 series 1.5U, will bring some with me tomorrow, you'll have to make brackets for that bad boy though.

I'll make the paper template whilst you lot load the van!!!!

Are sure you have enough ports there mate, I have a spare 16 port switch that you can uplink if you're short

6.6cm is 1.5U.

Divide height in inches by 1.75 for U size.
