Volvo T5 Engine RWD Fitting??
Has anyone on here done it, 5cyl turbo Volvo lump mated to a rwd box, do any boxes fit without modification etc any pitfalls to look out for etc etc

not done it but there are bellhousings available for Borg Warner Tremec T5's also the RWD box from the 960 fits, the
M90

The only box that fits is the M90 from the whiteblock engined 960. This unfotunately doesnt fit in a locost. Search for Benzines thread on here for
some pics.
I think volvorsport was getting a converter made for the Borg Warner T5 box but I havent heard if theyre done yet.
The Swedes make an adaptor plate for the BMW straight 6 boxes but due to the input shaft being short in relation to the bellhousing, you need a VERY
thick flywheel to make it work.
With all of that I chose to cut the bellhousing off my E30 325i box and weld on the one from the FWD volvo box, allowing me to keep the OE starter
mounting and clearance for the crank sensor and run the thinner lighter single mass flywheel.

Matt Claydon on here has done one, think it was BMW box. I seem to remember him talking about a 'thick' flywheel too.
