not finished but on the road

14 years and almost done.
It's plated and insured and had a few drives. The final colour will be the blue on the nose. I have not yet decided on if the fenders/wings will be dark blue.

My wife certainly had fun.

Well done for sticking to your plan and producing a truly unique car. Love it.

You must be over the moon. Congratulations.

Did you have to register it with a name? If so, what have you called it?

Personally I like the pale blue. Lots of old British sports cars were painted that colour and it now seems timeless.

Cheers

Being in Canada our rules may be different and this is licensed as a 1972 mgb. It does have the original bonnet (modified), the center section of the scuttle with the original vin plates, also the boot and surround is of the same car. This car was already registered in my name and all legal hoops were gone through so it is perfectly legal. The insurance is registered mgb rod.
If it had been 1980 or newer it would have been branded as a rebuild but not required as 1972.

I started mine in 2003 so must have started more or less together.

I've been on the road 2.5 years now but have just SORN'ed ( Statutory Off Road Notification ) mine for the winter.

Roll on the spring.

'Not finished but on the road'? I thought that was the whole point of kit cars, they never actually get 'finished'!

Very, very nice.

I like the blue of the nosecone and personally, I'd go for that all over rather than darker wings.

It still has a long way to go yet
Among other things I need to fill in the bottom of the windscreen,( so far very little buffeting but I only have had it up to 60mph but the screen is angled at 20 degrees or so.
I dont think I can keep using the wink mirror even though I really like it as it is just at the height to block traffic lights on me.

I need to add a series of amber indicator leds (penny lights) on each front wing as the indicators can not been seen from the side, I will probably put some on the sides of the rear wings as well.
I am just about to put the dash back in so the gauges will hopefully work now.

And a better tune on the engine as its pig rich right now and maxing at 7 lbs of boost when it should be 17
