Alternative Brake Calipers

Hi all,

Have done some searching here but can't find many suggestions. I have a hillclimb Locost at 500kgs with standard Cortina uprights and 13" rims. The standard brakes seem fine for me at the minute, but are there any alloy calipers off a common road car that would be lighter? I don't mind making up custom mounting brackets etc as long as I get to save weight for small money! Any suggestions?

Why bother, Rally design do alloy calpiers for £100 a side. New and won't need rebuilding
ATB Dan.

The less I worked, the more i liked it.

Golf rear callipers are a bit lighter (700gram per side from my memory) than Sierra ones.

If you don't need a handbrake then there are probably other options.

The rallydesign stuff (Willwood distributor) are pretty good pricewise as Dan says.
