Seatbelt Mountings

I plan to bolt eyebolts through a crossbar on my rollbar to satisfy SVA hight requirements. I am going to bolt them horizontally through the crossbar. Can I use locking nuts or do I have to set in some threaded bushes?

You must have strong fingers, I think I could manage 2mm but 3, wow!

I drilled a big hole right through, put in an insert and welded it top and bottom. I then ground the top welds down to get a nice smooth profile (the top weld was into a deep 'V' to allow this).

The insert was around 30mm dia, with a blind hole threaded as required.

My rollbar is fairly massive, so if these mounting fail I'm in deep sh*t anyway!

MK will supply you with the threaded tubes for a small fee.
