Well it would have been a bargain ....
.... if it worked 
I was browsing round my local cheapy shop (The Range in Colchester) and came across a Draper 600Amp jump start power pack for £19.99 (over £40 on
eBay). They looked really well designed so I decided to invest and trotted off home to give it a try.
The damn thing had a fault which meant I couldn't charge it  so I went back to exchange it (20 mile round trip but hey ho) and asked if the
shop could test the replacement in case of any similar problems. It turns out that the whole batch was faulty so I am out of luck.
Ah well, it was a nice day for blatting anyway

Probably why they got them cheap to sell them cheap!!
Get the Aldi powerstation one for 20 quid..

I got one of these things a while back, it's so pathetic. It provides so little power that I might aswell just charge the dead battery, never
once has it had the grunt to turn an engine over.
Fame is when your old car is plastered all over the internet

I must have been lucky then with the dubious brand £20 one from ebay...
Mine had enough oomph to start 3 dead landies in a row

I suppose it depends on the cranking current these things are capable of - they vary quite a lot from 600 Amps (peak) upwards. They are probably
better at assisting a partially dead battery than replacing one. Obviously size is important in this case anyway.
They often have a handy compressor and worklight incorporated in the design, which could be handy at times.
