Bored at work......

...... I seem to be one of the only people working today?

Wish the phone would ring, or someone would send me an email.

The upside was the commute, virtually no traffic!

I've even tidied my office.

There is on other person in the whole building working and me! They don't seem very keen on talking to the 'boss' so its down to locostbuilders site to entertain me!

Went to work for 35 minutes and got bored.

Diverted the phones to my mobile and am now 'working from home'.

I might pop over later Col

haha. I'm at work too, but I get Thursday off. I've spent the whole morning being told its my "late tomorrow" (working until 5, as we start early) and have just been told by the boss that we all get to leave around 3.

I don't normally open this week but I had last week off (because skiing is extortionate at new year) so I'm in work now. It's been crazy! No other garages are open so they're all bothering me.
Trouble is it's all "Can you fix my ancient shit-heap immediatly cos I've got to drive to Cornwall in an hour...oh and I'm skint so can you do it for nowt!"
I had thought I'd do a couple of easy jobs in the morning and then get on with some of my "Modification list". Fat chance!

Almost nothing to do here. 3-4 customers and 2-3 phone calls. Done some boring paper work just to have something at all to do

Our CEO had the bright idea of getting SKYPE on all the pc's in head office (apparently picking up the phone is too much effort), so I've been doing the right thing and exploring the possible time wasting games that it has installed.

I think I will continue to investigate the full productivity impact until approx 4.55pm, where I will draft a short email to inform him of the consequence of his choice.

Not that I didn't do that when we had a meeting about it...

backgammon anyone?

I can just imagine the content of that report! If he really wants Skype then get a gateway to hook it up to the existing phone system. Otherwise you create a back door into the company that bypasses the usual standards of call handling etc.
