4 point / 6 point seat belts arghhhh

I just found out today that one set of my 4 point belts are bloody 6 point belts. If I send my car for the IVA without the passenger seat belts I assume it will fail wont it? However if I take the seat out and send it as a car with the race re-enforce bar fitted from the crossbar to the floor, would it pass? I have a 4 point Willans harness but it will have expired on the FIA dating.

Any ideas?

or is anyone selling 1 or a pair of 4 points within date?

Cheers

i thought a lot of 4 points are just the same as 6 point but without the bottom straps?
IVA won't worry about FIA dates either.

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

My harness wasn't checked for being in date. Is that part of the S/IVA?

If so, surely someone near to you could lend you one for the day?

The problem with my 6 point belt is that the quick release unit is part of the lower belt system,

I will see if MNR can lend me one if its needed, otherwise I will fit my spare Willans.

Cheers

Fit the Willans, they don't check the date on the belts.

Depending om the belts, some can be unbolted and moved - watch out for springs shooting off when you take it apart though.

Cheers fella, I have nothing to lose really so I will have a look into that as this is a much nicer proposition. Failing that I will fit my spare Willans for the time being.

Cheers guys

Belts now sorted

I took the advice and took them apart and rectified the 6 point belt right out of the equation. Will try it tonight, but I think its acceptable.
