Nice Manta

Now't to do with me, and not really my cup of tea, but if you like Manta's, then I guess you could do a lot worse...

I so wanted one of those when I was 18, a old guy on our street had one in white, I was so jealous, when I was driving round in a 1977 datsun 100A at the time

I had one, I had one, I had one...

(When I was 7 or 8)
It was in a beige/gold colour with a brown vinyl roof - sounds horrible, but looked the dog's in the day!

I had one as my second ever car (~1989) Berlinetta Model, as the thinking mans Capri.
Cost £400 silver, known as "the beast".

It had the early 2litre engine which was a massive lump of cast iron (later engines were better).
I swapped the autobox for a manual.

Written off when a truck drove into me whilst stationary and I got £450 from insurers. Drove it for a year after that.
Very cheap motoring.

Heavy on fuel and tail happy in the wet, but good fun. I used to store it in a multi-story during term time, the battery used to die and so I used to bump start it down the ramps (quite a dangerous game).

Some good memories, not a car I crave.

Matt

I had a white GT/E hatch just like that original one .
They never had those nasty rubbing strips down the sides though.

A few bits even found their way onto the Locost (steering column, pedal box, master cylinder, seats, rev counter, switchgear and a few more bits )

pffft all the wrong shape!

This is what you want, running tuned redtop goodness

You couldn't pwn your way out of a wet paper bag, with "PWN ME!!" written on it, from the "pwned take-away" which originally contained one portion of chicken tikka pwnsala and the obligatory free pwnpadom.
