Looks like the formula renault / ford ones. Will probably look a little more to size once you have the bonnet on.

Regarding bhp, not teaching you how to suck eggs, remember trumpet design and length is a main contribution. What's nice about your air box is it will facilitate a fair size trumpet length.

Can it contain an air filter? Pipercross px600?

Track days ARE the best thing since sliced bread, until I get a supercharger that is!

Yep understand about trumpet length it will easily accommodate up to 100-150 trumpets,

But current set up has no cold air feed to filter and only 50mm trumpets so can experiment now,

As we all know more air more power and ope to get a little ram air effect at that magic 100mph but we will see,

And of course it reduces induction noise,

Filter options will look into again experimenting on this,

Can run socks or a panel filter
Airbox will be sold as is and upto customer with filter

A mate fitted one of these to his 7 and Northampton motorsport did back to back tests with it fitted and without it fitted.
This was with an XE engine on throttle bodies.
The induction noise was vastly reduced and iirc there was about 3 bhp difference with it fitted.

Cheap extra 3bhp then,

I'll take every extra one I can get

But the induction noise is a big gain as you said,

Cheers

Looks very similar to the cabbage cannons rswst sells on the bay, I would like to see some live mapping results as a comparison with and without, defo reduce induction noise though.

Iirc it was 3 bhp less with the snorkel fitted, but the reduction in induction noise more than made up for it as he did a lot of track days.

On a rolling road would be difficult to simulate the ram air effect of the snorkel as it will only really work at about 100 mph and most rolling roads don't have fans that produce that wind speed etc, so can't comment,

But I like the look anyway, and yep noise is a big issue as we all know,

Looks superb Sean, but we need pictures now with that stuck out of the bonnet, something that looks that good, I don't care how many extra bhp it puts out
