Fuel

Jos, my little 1.8 Ltr Pintosaurus with twin 40's, gives around 20 mpg ( sensible driving ?? ), and I chicken out and fill the tank at about 120 miles. I reckon there is around 1 gallon left in the tank, so a full tank might see 140 miles. I was also informed by Mark a while ago that getting any more than 120 miles out of a tank means you are driving like a P**** ( - small furry pet that goes 'meow' ) !

Oh crap. I've got a smaller tank in the worx. Looks like I'll be filling up every half hour if I finish in time for Le Mans.

I'd hate to think what Mark says about bigrich's driving as he can apparently get 200 miles from a tank

http://www.locostbuilders.co.uk/viewthread.php?tid=39181

mine looks like a mountain range aprox 4 bends in it to give full range of movement and no fouling took a bit of working out but is very acurate especially at low end where its importantnot to run out. worked it out by offering up and bending so it reaches full droop and not quite touching bottom of tank the apply w shape bends to allow full movement without quite reaching top of tank but not affecting low point never run out of fuel yet so cant be far wrong and done 200 miles on a tank

One of the reasons im fitting megajolt and bike carbs is to try and improve economy when going to work and back. (other reason is to release power!!!).

rich - 919cc's - i wouldnt get out of bed for that!!

(No Jos thats a pathetic excuse - shut up and go back to bed)

I got 119.5 miles out of my last tank (29.5 litres on yesterdays fill up)

Does that mean I dont drive like a puss* Mark, Lyn & Rich.............

The real question you should be asking Jos is are you bothered. Just drive it like you stole it and fill up when gauge reads empty!!!

Fuel consumption doesnt really bother me in this no, not really.

I reckon low 20's mpg in a premium sports car like this is pretty good going.

It could be worse, I could be in an MK and run out of fuel

Stoneleigh trip averaged 24mpg. Not bad me thinks and that was with some spiritted runs after Woolley edge trying to catch the convoy up (obviously a wasted effort!!)
