8mm microbore copper for fuel lines?

Hello chaps,
Am I safe to use 8mm micro bore copper pipe for the fuel lines on my Dax? I will be using 'standard' fuel rated hose for flexible joins between the hard line and lifter pump for example. Just want to check that Mr IVA will be happy......

It'll be fine for IVA. There is (alledgedly) some issue with fuel leeching copper from the pipe and depositing it in the injectors but plenty have used it. Kunifer pipe would be a better bet.

Be sure to use proper fuel pipe clips on the hoses and not worm drive/Jubilee clips (IVA don't like them and they tend to leak).

That's what we used IVA Man was pleased with it.
I have 6M of it left over , enough for 2 runs
+ flexible Rated hose which there is 7M of.
you can have a meter & a half of that
Yours foc but only if you collect,
will not post.

I used copper but in hindsight would use Kunifer if I did it again as much easier to bend and form - copper want to kink at every moment! I also got some 8mm olives and soldered them onto the ends of the pipe to help retain the rubber hoses. IVA man was fine with mine and actually said he prefered it to rubber hoses the whole way.

Plain-ol' microbore has fatigue issues, it really isn't very fatigue resistant unlike Kunifer (unless you can find one of a similar composition). Personally I'd not want that on a safety critical pressurised flammable liquid carrying hose, but that's just me.

Solder joints in it are equally worrying.

After taking advice from fellow racers, I went with copper. Admittedly visual inspection is regular on a race car and that might play a part versus more regular road use but the one chap had a 8 year old car that had been used hard and was still fine.

Been on my car for 10 years and 10K miles and all OK still....did the same with olives to act as a retainer for the rubber clip. No issues so far with injectors.
