What do I need?

Title says it all really.
I'm looking at an electronic ignition system, poss Megajolt, but wondering if I go for Megasquirt 'n' Spark, can I disable the squirt bit for a while, with a view to upgrading to throttle bodies later?
Waht's the costs of the 2 systems?
Would be going on a crossflow

Cheers

Marcus

Yes, just seen it, but I'm a DIY bloke who, for 15 of the last 20 years, worked in the electronics repair business, so I'm quite handy with a soldering iron!
Need to know wether to go for the full monty or just the ignition stuff.

I'd go megasquirt - then you have the flexibility should you decide to do later.

My mate sells them for £150.00 fully assembled in an aluminium case, with diagnostic report.

Or I believe you can purchase the kits from the USA for around £120 (after customs)

Your choice

Would I need to 'dummy load' the injector o/ps or will it cope if I leave them open circuit?
What about lambda sensor i/p and MAP sensor?

Megasquirt and spark should work ok with just ignition, im sure i have heard of people doing it this way.I have already got Megajolt on my crossflow and am fitting megasquirt injection at present.I plan to use both systems together at first as i already have the ignition running well so will just need toi set up the fuel.
I have built a few megajolts for people, cost works out at £75 for unit, You then need to add the edis and coil pack and the trigger wheel. If your planning on going for injection it would be as easy to fit the megasquirt and spark for ingnition and then upgrade it to the fuel later but would be a little more complicated initially.
Mapped ignition is well worth fitting as it makes a great difference to the power delivery and smoothness of the crossflow.
Paul.
