SVA Passed (re-test)

We had our re-test on Friday. Snow on the ground made for a "fun" drive over to the SVa centre.

We had used pipe-lagging to solve the bottom of the dash radius problem. It had been painted black to make it look a little more "permanent". He passed it, but said that generally pipe lagging anywhere was a fail. ("Plumbers use pipe lagging, car manufacturers don't!". As we'd got some assistance from him on ideas for dealing with the dash in and after our previous visit, he said that since he hadn't mentioned pipe-lagging in those discussions he would let it go.

Other thing - we got some reflector stickers from Halfords. These failed as they were not e-marked (and were generally not that reflective!) - but he gave us the chance to obtain some stick-on plastic reflectors with rounded-edged reflective bits (cue some hacksawing and filing on the test centre floor!) and so we passed.

On the way back we went to Aldon Automotive in Dudley, who've tuned it and done various things to make it go well. From this, we now know it's got 120bhp and good torque.

The drive home was fantastic. Just needs a DVLA viewing now and forms to complete, and it's on the road.

Excellent news!! well done!

So now who's going to drive it?

Sorry we're not going to see you in it on Monday.

Dave

BTW Have Aldon got a decent guy on their rolling road now? Up to now I have strongly recommended Mick at Hi-Tech Motorsport in Cradley Heath over Aldon any day. Better results, a great deal cheaper, highly recommended by our local race engine builder (who uses no-one else) and just down the road from Aldon..

Well done. Teamwork?

It's good to see that you got on the road with a post count of 8.

Spring is just round the corner...enjoy

Cheers,

Colin

Congratulations, I am now convinced that completion time is inversely proportional to post number!
