Put the floor in first. Then think fuel and brake lines along with loom. Then front and back suspension followed by steering. Engine gearbox diff etc. Finish panelling then interior. Roughly. Good luck with it.

Best bet is to buy the original book.

Looks like a locost, less brackets etc. Based on MK2 Escort, so live rear axle.

It'll need some work to finish it or if you want to update it for IRS etc, so hope you can weld!

I'd add the missing panels and brackets before adding the floor, as you'll have better access and may want to powder coat it once it's welded.

A friend started with a dilar chassis, used a DeDion axle to fit Sierra diff shafts and hubs to fit the escort type double trailing link that he chassis has
For £100 it's a good buy you now need to take a bit of time to work out what you want to fit to it
Nothing's a big deal but joining a local Kit car club may get some practical hands on help

chassis

Looks like the standard size 42in Ron Champion chassis , will help if you can get your hands on the Haynes manual (Build Your Own Sports Car for as little as £250) Im on with building this one and got the manual from flea bay for a tenner

cheers for the advise, is it worth chopping the back end off and changing it to IRS ? also is there much difference between the 2 books? I was thinking about going down the MX5 route

I have both the books, and decided to build the ron champion version because it seems a lot simpler and and cheaper build and will only be used for road use
Escort bits are getting hard to find though, but I have the axel and cortina Uprights

hi there are a few mods to take the mx5 running gear if you download the Saturn guide it shows you the differences
google Saturn mx5 Haynes roadster and you should find a pdf of the build guide highlighting the differences if you have any problems finding it message me your email and I will send it to you

Except this is a Locost, not a Roadster chassis Gary, so the SSC build guide is going to be of so much help.

Probably better off looking at LocostUSA if putting MX5 running gear on a Locost TBH.
