bedford rascal alternator

anyone know if the rascal/suzuki jeep(sj410)/carry are the same sort of size as the daihatsu item?

yep same size mate

Which term goes where as they are both the same size,i know one goes to charge light and one to battery via starter.

spose its a case of suck it and see

On the Rascal alternator I have, there is an insulated M8 stud and a 13mm nut for take off to the battery (via starter if you want). There are two 6mm spade terminals in a T shape in a recess. Top one IG, and upright marked L. I use L for ignition light.

The insulated M8 terminal is the positive to battery pos. Depending on manufacturer usualy labeled A, BAT, B, B+, 51, or 30.
Ignition lamp usualy runs off a terminal labeled D, L, WL, I 61.
Most alternators earth through the casing into the block but if there is an earth wire it would be labeled B-, D-, E, G, GRD, M-, 31 or 31- according to my crib sheet.
