What is "TECH" wire on 'Busa Loom

Hi All,

Does anyone know what the "TECH" wire between the ECU and Clocks on a 'Busa loom is for. I'm suspicious that it may be the wire for the red "FI" light on the clocks but does anyone know for sure?

Is that not for the fault display from ECU to digital display on the clocks?

Hi Paul, what do you mean by fault display? Does something come up on the small LCD screen?

The FI light is I believe the Fuel Injection light and I think it comes on if there is a fuel injection fault which is why I'm suspicious that the TECH wire operates this light.

Have a read through this - it may help.

Linky

Many bikes have the ability to read a fault code from the dash and is a big advantage to using the bike clocks in my opinion - especially with an injected bike. As you suggest it looks like that wire might connect to the FI light but the above link may help you access the fault codes also on your dash.

Hope this helps. (i dont have a Busa myself anyway!!)

FI does stand for Fuel Injection, but this light also covers many other diagnostics depending on what code is displayed in the LCD

If its broke, fix it. If it aint broke, take it apart and find out how it works!

But does the TECH wire connect to it? I'm using after market clocks so need to work out what it does.
