BMW 320i

Hi all, got a call from my friend, into his cars etc, but can't change the spark plugs on a 320i (1999)

now, before i go over there and explain hes being silly, is there some trickery involved? never touched a bmw before but surely it is no differant?

Too busy watching telly

Not got the right tools

Scared of breaking it

Doesn't want to pay a garage

....these are the reasons my family and friends roll out when anything car related needs doing

Not really looked that closely at Beemer engines myself, but it can't be difficult can it.

Coil packs
Also correct sized deep socket required.

Probably have to take the covers off and they are coil packs as above.

On my donor, the toolkit in the top of the boot came with a spark plug deep socket.

I had a similar call about a 1.6 Mk4 Golf - What a job! I made up a special tool in the end

lol yeah, my 328 was all full of plastic covers and stuff before you got to the engine. it has a coil on each cylinder so they have to be unbolted first, and removed before you get to the spark plug
