Fisher Fury/Sylva Buying Advise

Hi there

I want to buy a Fury type car. Can anyone give me some buying advise on what to look out for. Which one to go for. And how much to pay. I am looking to buy one with a car engine.

ps I want a already built one
Thanks

Well, it does all really depend on what you want it for. Is it mostly for track use, local driving, or long distance work? Do you want one with a windscreen, or aeroscreen? With full weather gear or not?

And what engine depends on what you want to spend, if it's less than £5k your probably looking at a pinto or crossflow, over that then maybe a zetec, duratec or 4age.

As for what to buy and what to look for, then it will be exactly the same as buying any kit car. Did the seller build it, is it properly registered, is it a Q plate or age related, how well is it put together, how well has it been used and looked after. What extra stuff like good brakes and other upgrades does it have.

As above. Alsp do you want live axle or independant. BHG (Fishers) aren't far away in so might be worth going seeing them. They might know of cars for sale.

You could ask the same on here...
http://groups.google.com/group/Sylva-Chat
or here...

There's a monthly meet down that way that would be worth looking up. Good group of guys and a fair number of sylva cars. Find it via the above sites.

I will probably be selling mine soon but it's bike engined.

Not the best photo ( - mainly as I'm in it and wrecking what would have been a nice shot...I'm not the one in the dress)
but you get the idea!

Fury type?

Fury some have screens, some have doors, lots made. Some live axle (slightly lighter) some IRS. Many are car engined (all the usual suspects, from cross-flow to v8 and everything in-between).

Phoenix. Striker with bodywork (approximately). None have screens, none have doors, fewer made. Smaller inside. Less well developed but if you are buying 2nd hand that will have been dealt with already. Earlier models had tubes that were rectangular in cross section, a few later models were made with round tube chassis (lighter and can be made to run closer to the ground).

and then there's the Stylus, looks almost the same as a fury, but is more civilised as it has lower doors and a boot

I'll sell mine if you make the right sort of offer!

BTW - Mine is a turbo charged car engine with aero screen.

I'll email you the feature done in PPC if your interested!

The only reason I want to sell is that I'm in love with TVR for sale on here at the moment so it will have to be a quick transaction!

u2u me if interested and let me know a number and I'll call you!
