advice on a ebay car
Does any one have a valued opinion on loctus super7 kit cars like the one below.

Mate of mine has seen this and wants something he can use straighht away and then improve / amend over time whilst not having to scratch build and IVA
something.

That, I think is one of those cars built on a ladder chassis with a plywood body tub. Uses cortina suspension at the front - note big pressed steel
wishbones.
Not a good basis for improving over time really, and not worth £3K IMHO

I think it looks nice, at the end of the day it's like most things, if you like it and think it's worth the money then buy it.

its reg'd as a JC LocUst,
so yeah ladder chassis with plywood body/Tub
again not really worth £3k i don;t think

It looks quite pretty but I think £2000 is a bit much. The seats look a bit tatty and the exhaust hanging under the chassis rails make me want to
look at the ground clearance. That silencer is TINY too. I'd want to look before bidding and I'd shop around on Pistonheads to see what
else I could get for the money.

I had one and was really pleased with it,
I changed the cortina wishbones for tubular ones I made myself which allowed me to better choose spring rates as the cortina ones were very stiff.
Mine had a crossflow eng like the one above , I added a four branch manifold and twin webbers and it was quick enough.
Mine also had full weather gear and was a lot more usable than my present car .
The car in question looks quite well finished.
There is a good owners club too.

Hi,
I had one too and managed to write it off last year on a trip around Europe, I also changed to wishbones front and rear and was very happy with the
car.
I must admit I believe the plywood body with the ladder chassis actually saved me getting injured.
I have rebuilt it and am setting off next week to Spain and Gib. They are ideal for touring.

They are not as bad as most would think. He is one that I made. 1700 xflow.
