VW Camper Query

Here's a pic of a VW Camper.

I thought this model was out-of-prodn, and in the "Classic" category. So how come it's got 2012 reg plate? And, moreover, what's that grille on the front panel for?

NB: Note its RHD.

Thre's bound to be some VW experts on here.

It will be water cooled The last VW transporters on the UK had water cooled engine, a Golf unit hanging out the back coupled to the normal type 2 transaxle

Yep, you can buy them from Brazil, brand new.. grille on the front is to hide the radiator (some have a fake spare wheel cover on the front with lots of holes in them for the rad).

Something like £26k I think?

Devon Conversions import them on a regular basis and camperise them, the WU plate is a devon registration

If you can keep you head, whilst all others around you are losing theirs, you are not fully aware of the situation

That would make sense. Presumably an RHD conversion as well?
