Grill-to-Nosecone Fixing?
G'day Locosters.
Have nw reached the stage where some finishing jobs have to be done. Appearance-wise, one of the most important is the attachment of the front
grill.
My grill appears to be ex-Caterthingy, and it sits pretty well into the MK nosecone aperture. But that all - it just sits there. How should I attach
this grill to the G/F return lip of the nosecone "mouth"? Since the grill has vertical bars, I could drill holes for these to sit in, and
try to flex the G/F return lip, and spring the grill in. Drilling holes in G/F always provides stress generators, which might well result in cracks.
So I wonder if anyone has found a less damaging way of fastening the grill to the G/F?

I've used p-clips on the front edge of the nose cone.

fixing nosecone
Try fibreglassing some wire loops round the back of the lip of the nosecone. When it has cured you can then fix the grill using plastic ties. This
means there will no visible fixing from the front.

I was wondering this myself.
Additional to this, is there an IVA requirement that a mesh
cover is needed infront of the MK supplied name badge grill insert?

small cable ties for me, although just used one small hole, cut off the square ratchet bit off one cable tie and then passed a complete cable tie from
the back of the nose fg through the mesh (fine) and then clicked down the little square ratchet that I'd cut down, snipped off the excess length
of tie wrap and repeated at each corner, hardly see them.
