2006 r1 hot oil pressure
Anyone know what I should expect to see? I'm getting around 80-90psi at 8000 rpm. Seems v. high to me.

Sounds about right. How hot was it? Mine makes about 10psi/1000rpm @80c. It's very low at idle (hardly lifts the gauge) when hot but about 60psi
when cold. It's low idle pressure that worries most people.

I'm ok with the idle pressure of 10-20 psi @80degrees C, I was more alarmed by the pressure going up to over 90 when pressing on!

The pressure relief valve is spec'd at 87-99 psi so within normal range of that. The service manual test is 33psi @ 5000rpm with 80-90C oil
temp.

I reckon my OPG might just over-read a little. As you say the Haynes manual states an opening pressure of up to 99psi
