I took the lazy route and asked the guys at MNR to source me a complete rear end for my MK - they found one pretty quickly and reburbished the diff, CV joints and hubs for a lot less than it would have cost me to get the bits seperately myself. I think the total bill was £550 which included new discs, calipers, pads, etc.

Finally back on the job!

Why not use a scooby one? The rear diff on the auto imprezza ie 3.38 to 1, about £200 on the bay with shafts. You wont make that go bang in a hurry.

There is also the Freelander diff. 3.1:1? and you can also get a diff off a BMW that is 3.38:1

Not easy to attach to the rear sierra hubs though using Scott or freelander diff....

They are worth around 200-300 at moment

Thanks
