Wanted: Reliant Scimitar

Have drawn a blank in the usual places so though I would ask here........

As per the title , I am looking for a buy a Reliant Scimitar - does anyone have one in their garage they might considered moving on or know of one?
This will be a project so I am not expecting anything showroom but it would need to be sound and mostly complete. My budget is up to £2500 and wish list includes;

SE5a but early SE6 considered
Manual gearbox
Located in south/south east if possible

Many thanks in advance
Cheers, Chris

Can't help but I have had a couple of those, an SE5 and an SE6a

I liked the 'primitiveness' of the SE5 with the flat dash and the long gearstick. The SE6a was a bit of a disappointment really but I think it could be improved with better suspension etc

Andy D - loving the colour !
We did look at one not too far away which was allegedly orange - fleabay add described it as a mess, needing lots of work but in reality was much worse....
Looked like it had some wiring done by my dog who had also found a use for many tins of body filler.

Pop over to www.scimitarweb.com and youll find a few for sale. Stick a wanted ad up (free) and the helpful bunch will advise of whats about and where :-)

Good luck.

Ps the orange GTE known as Tango 5, was built by Paul Turnbull to compete in the scimitar clubs Scimitar and Sabre Speed Championship, in sprints and hillclimbs, beautiful build before Paul took it circuit racing in the CSCCs Swinging sixties championship. Paul sold it and built a monster 60s TVR Griffith V8 but is now finishing his beautiful Scimitar Coupe with modern TVR staright six engine to compete in the speed championship again :-)

My mate's dad had a GT in BRG with wire wheels in the 70's. I've liked them ever since!

Garage in Carlisle owned by Alan Reay has had a gold one sitting for years. In fact I think I mentioned it when someone was looking for an Essex engine on here a while back. He regularly advertises on the Internet offering to swap cars for anything.
