pinto head gasket

hi all need some help again. after the weekend running the mk and decinding that the piston ring probs were too much to ignore i have stripped it down and now am waiting for delivery of my 2.1 short motor from JEM engines. im now buying the rest of the bits for the build up but what head gasket do i need? obviously the 2.0 is a 91mm bore but where do i get a 93mm bore hg? burtons have a 94.5mm gasket but its about £150

so what do i do?

I did see some cheap 93.3mm gaskets on fleabay but not sure if they will be OK.
The standard 2.0l pinto gasket is 92.8mm standard but if you have 93mm bores the gasket will squash into the bore and you either get contact or the fire ring burns.
Burtons do a 94.5 Competition Ajusa part no. FT774G at 45 quid + VAT

When i had my block bored out to 2.1 by Scholar they advised me that they always use standard size gaskets!

So that is what i have used... guess i will find out if it is OK when the car is funally up and running!

My reasoning was simple.. start off with a Pinto, get it up and running, then swap for a Cosworth. that way all the mounts etc are already in place and the conversion is simplified.
However 4 years on the car is still not on the road and i realise that my pinto is going to be enough of a handfull for a while so the Cossie conversion plans have been shelved..... for now!

Rally design list the same part number for a few £ less - worth asking

DaveFJ - I haven't got as far as head gaskets yet on my 2.1 pinto - but I also have future cossie plans - infact its already a GM 1/2 cossie hybrid
