306 MOT fail on brake light problem
Hey there.
Sorry this is a bit off topic but the kit in the garage now and i have gone back to using my pug 306.
It has just failed it's MOT because when the indicators are switched on with the brake light on also the brake light dims with each flash of the
indicator.
I am thinking it sounds like an earth problem but the light cluster earth wire runs off into a bunch of wires and then god knows where it goes.
I have cleaned up tow earths in the engine bay to no effect.
Any ideas would be more then welcome!
Thanks again
Rupert

Clean up the earthing points in the boot and the contacts on the light cluster. IIRC there are some on the reare panel and up near the strut tops.

rear lights will be full of water causing a short, common problem, also happenes on the 106.
take but bulbs / holders out and test again, will work fine.
empty lights out and drill a few smal holes on the bottom for water to drain

After cleaning the rear light cluster terminals I would also run an additional earth wire for each rear light.

I added a earth point to my old 306 when it was doing the same and connected new wires to the new earth point and it was ok after this.

It can happen if you force a stop and tail bulb in the wrong way round as well.
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.
