No build thread, not his style.

No worries. His mate as a golf mk2 with the same setup and he's in the middle of building a Corrado/Impreza for another friend.

So I got a day on the project.

It's now the right length to accept the 205 body. Hopefully weekend will bring more time to move it on!

Made a decision, rightly or wrongly, that I'll dismiss the 205 body and go for a fibreglass custom job with a cage and a wing. Will keep it light and with the swb should be lively like a URQuattro!

Need to decide if it's worth giving a home made cage a go with a pipe bender or just paying for a custom build.

Any thoughts/suggestions?

Getting lighter and lighter.

Had to cut away quite a lot of crusty outer body and arch but the inner wells and strut towers are good and solid. Will clean, treat and make sure they stay that way before I fit the fibre glass body.

Tucked up in it's new home till it goes off for cage fabrication. Lots to come out the dash still.

Prop shaft going in tomorrow to be shortened. If I redo the front to rear brake lines....I could take this for a spin!
