after my last dose of hyperthermia does anyone know where i can get thermal/padded overalls

Get some Damart thermals. I used to swear by them on nights and for motorbike, nothing better..

Hi,
I always wear old jogging bottoms under my overalls and an old sweater too. My garage thermometer varies from freezing point (slightly too cold for
fingertip work) to about 10 deg c which is fine for fingertip work but too warm for welding or manual work such as hacksawing, lifting and shifting.
I managed to set fire to my overalls the other day whilst cutting some steel with my angle grinder. The steel was in the vice, I was standing in front
with goggles, ear defenders and gauntlets on. A little voice in my head said "Look Down...Now!!" and there were flames starting to flicker
around my midriff. I never felt any heat but my overalls are burnt through... The strange thing is that they had just been washed and all the usual
oil deposits were at a minimum.

If you're anywhere near Salisbury Plain, flag down a tank driver, get him pissed, and nick his suit. Alternatively, try an army surplus store
for one.
I had a couple of tank suits years ago with the most amazing quantity and lengths of zips, and they would make you hot sitting on an igloo
(you'd be surprised how many igloos there are in Norn Iron).
Needless to say, the military stuff is top rate too.

If you just want to keep the wind out, get some one-piece unlined bike waterproofs - it's not as if you need to wear protective clothing (as on
a bike!), so you can wear as many, or few) layers underneath as you like.

fireman's steel toed wellies, 5 quid a pair, for example. steel toed leather boots for 10.

What you want is a decent softie jacket - probably the only piece of kit i kept from my ARMY days... I have worn mine in temps of -25c, over a tee
shirt - no problems!

Norwegian army shirt - less than £10 from army surplus shops - great piece of kit. Standard issue army thermals - about £2 from same shop. Does the
job and last well. You have to like olive green though!
