indy in the back of a van?

what do you think the changes of getting a almost fully built indy in the back of a van are? i will remove the bonnet & nosecone so i dont have any clearance issues on the front.

thinking something reasonably low and some scaffold planks?

how would you get it on? You have a forklift or crane?

Would the wishbones be vunerable? - i'd be tempted to take them off along with the steering rods in case they get bent in the move.

That would be a heart in the mouth moment as your pride and joy swings 6ft off the ground.... GULP!

I've seen MK load a rolling chassis into a van with the forklift, though the wheels had to be removed I think.

It was a close fit, so measure up first!

Cheers

No idea how our Dutch friends got this MK into, or indeed out of a Sprinter.

^^^^^

You need a Luton van the car will fit in fine with the nose cone and wheels on I used long scaffolding planks to get the car on and put the lift back up to support the scaffolding planks and stop them bending to much it scraped a bit on the corner of the back of the lorry but was ok. Then strapped it to the floor with some big orange ratchet straps. Will help if the hand break works and its got breaks to get it of without rolling into stuff!

I love that photo, shows a bit of proper ingenuity!

If you photoshopped out the ratchet straps you could definitely pass it off as a bizzarre accident

mk delivered it in a sprinter bot obviously it wasnt quite as wide or heavy as it is now.

should be able to get a good price on a box van and use the tail lift to support it.

no handbrake yet but brakes are in and should be able to get handbrake cable sorted before it goes.

Don't know about MK but we got my old striker in the back of RAW's sprinter when I sold it to a guy in Ireland. Was pretty tight but just went in with out removing any wheels or bodywork.

Strikers are pretty tiny compared to most locost derived cars though!

I picked up my rolling chassis in a transit flatbed pickup, just tilted the back to suit angle of the planks used, and pushed it up , i also tied rope to the front hooked round the top of the truck just incase it rolled back.
