About to start build

Hello, after being a watcher for some time I am about to begin the build process.
Sadly it will not be my car, as I cannot afford to build one to comply with the Australian Design Rules which mean that a home built car must comply with all requirements for a new car

.A friend of mine has been recently able to secure a tack welded chassis, front uprights and rear axle from a Cortina (vented discs too), various Escort bits like the rack etc, and a copy of the second edition Ron Champion book.
He is getting a Mazda MX 5 motor and gearbox, and building will start in the next week or so. Due to the head start we are hoping to have it under its own power in 6 months, but I am not sure if this is feasible or not.
I am excited just thinking about it!!!

Thanks fellas!
The chassis arrived today and I will start to fully weld some of the bits in the next few days. I plan to use the arc welder for most of it as I have a lot of experience with a narc welding thin metal and olmost none with the MIG. I can certainly weld metal of the thickness of the chassis.

The wishbones are sorted, and will be made by a professional welder and TIG welded for a few bottles of beer. Better than the $800 we were quoted by a big shop! We were set to make our own, but you can't beat an offer like that!
