Ebay issues

I have an ebay issue.

I bought some USB heated wastcoat thingies, all good. (not amazing, but certainly useful)
Bought 4x Juice powerbanks off ebay to run them. Seller had good feedback, and appears to sell a lot of stuff, possibly amazon pallets??

Anyway, got the powerbanks, 1 was slightly diffrenet. Left them all on charge overnight. Then when I came to turn them on, or plugged something in, only the odd one worked. The others implied they were fully discharged, flashed, went off.

I contacted the manufacturer, and withing minutes they called me. I had a chat with the agent, VERY helpful, he got me to check a few things, and after 15 minutes agreed all 3 were indeed faulty. Simple. I should return to the seller.(from this interaction I reckon Juice are a good company)

I contact the ebay seller asking for a return. They say no. As they were all new/sealed, and now not. However, just before the time limit they accepted my return. I sent them back using the provided label.

Seller now saying they are reporting me! As I have only returned 3 of the 4 batteries. And they charge up. Which is true (but they don't turn on!)

They are dead rude, and I think trying it on. No other comms from ebay about me being reported.
I have replied I will wait and if they don't refund, I will claim via ebay.

Have I missed anything? Should I do anything else?

Ta, and happy christmas!

This is why I'm reluctant to buy on eBay anything in not prepared to throw away & stick to stuff sold under Amazon prime which I think is marginally better on returns.

Do you have any record of the conversations / agreements - especially with the supplier? Don't forget postage may have been a bit slow unless you have a record of when it was delivered.

And how good are the heated waistcoats / any features to look for as I'm very tempted.

I'd be very careful of buying cheap powerbanks as the damn things are more likely to burn your house down or set you on fire!

The heated waistcoats have 5x heat areas, nowhere near as big as the adverts suggest.
If you sit down so the pads press against you they feel very warm, but when standing you don't really feel it, but they definately help.

As to power banks, I purposely bought branded ones, as sold by major retailers in the hope they have better quality control and should be the correct capacity.

I have not heard from the seller again, I think the date when eBay step in is tomorrow, so we shall see what happens then.

You should be fine as the rules on eBay are massively biased.to protect the buyer which is good for you with a genuine issue but not so good when you have someone trying to take the Mickey.

An example being a Honda generator I listed as for parts only not working and yet they accepted a return because it wasn't as described because it didn't work??? I eventually got it back at my own expense packed it a box upside down with the carry handle all cracked and soaked with oil (he collected it in person and didn't drain the fluids to post it).

So you should be all good returning your usb power banks they are probably just playing hardball to throw you off the process.

In my case it made me want to use in person only sales channels like Facebook market place or gumtree despite the different fleet of time wasters those two sometimes attract.

don't get me started on facebook marketplace.
Give something away for free, a bazillion messages, the first 5+ don't show up, somebody collects, then people moan. One person wannted to collect a wardrobe and planned on coming on a bus.
Sell something, and again full of timewasters. I am not sure I can cope with that route again.

I will report back on how it goes. Meanwhile I have ordered replacements via Currys, these are belkin. Again branded, but currys can be VERY difficult with issues. They break the most basic selling rules.

Timewasters and criminals have been the result of most classifieds I've posted in recent years, on all platforms and in various 'specialist' publications.
The timewaster is a bad enough animal (no show, no communication, no payment, ridiculously low ball offers, wife not allowing purchase, etc., etc.), but the criminal is something else and takes their profession along many facets.

Result is a trip to the scrap yard for anything metal, the recycling centre for everything else (that won't burn). It just hasn't been worth dealing with the idiots and scum out there.

I will sell stuff on Facebook market place but I have to build myself up to it. Do stuff like furniture as I expect people will need to collect. I've learnt to always offer price a little as higher than I want everyone wants a discount. Been let down at least once for nearly everything I've sold.

As others predicted, ebay paid me my refund as the seller didn't

What I feel bad about is that ebay refunded me for all 4, not just the 3 I returned. But I expect it will be too difficult to make payment for the one to the seller, whose blood will be boiling. Ho hum. I might contact them offering to pay them via paypal.
