Only if you set your yahoo groups profile up to mail it to you instead of reading online!
Just set it to online only and it's fine.

Click on no emails when you join the group. You don't seem to be able to read it unless you sign up. I always read them on the site anyway or you are ploughing through undeleted digests to read "Thanks mate " or similar at the end.

yours, Pete.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

Ahh the A616!

It's the notorious Stocksbridge bypass, 28 deaths in 10 years.

The cameras are positioned above the road, reading registrations, exceed the limit between any two and your nicked.

The road is genuinely dangerous, due to inadiquate design. It should have been a dual carriageway from the start.

Nobody minded really, a genuine case of excess speed being dangerous,

BUT

They alter the speed limit 12 times over an eight mile stretch, this can only be to catch people out.

Even in a case like this, the objective has been altered to raise more money.

The Association of British Drivers estimate that 5000 extra lives have been lost on british roads since the switch to "policing by camera" from policing by police officers in cars using common sense. Speed offences have tripled whilst drink driving/ driving whilst under the influence CONVICTIONS have fallen by half.

Have less people been driving under the influence?

No, of course not. Speed cameras don't catch people driving erratically and police forces have drastically reduced patrols, relying on the cameras.

Who would you sooner share the road with, someone driving five miles an hour over the limit or a stoned or drunk driver?

Cheers

Chris

Note to all: I really don't know when to leave well alone. I tried to get clever with the mods, then when they gave me a lifeline to see the error of my ways, I tried to incite more trouble via u2u. So now I'm banned, never to return again. They should have done it years ago!

VERY well said there Chris !!
Sadly there is sod all any body can do about it unless a big organisation can get behind the idea (like the fuel strikes) they didn't win, but they sure made the government take note of em !!!

Click on press releases and the third one down is the report I quoted above.

Maybe we should all join?

Cheers

Chris
