Question is how long ago did you own it?

The "accessories" might be looking a little more worn these days

Yup - suspension's bound to have dropped a bit by now, and she's bound to be more costly to run ....

I miss virtually all of my old cars, even the slightly crap ones. Every time I have to spend an hour undoing a rusty bolt I miss my absolutely mint jap import MR2. I still have fond memories of my mk2 Fiesta 1.1L, and really really want another XR2. In red.

The only one I couldn't give a toss about was the Citroen AX I had once. I don't even miss the wine bottle holders in the doors...

Reading this thread gives me an idea what about if we start a post entitled something like "Lets see some pictures of your old cars" could be interesting and embarrassing for some of us

Would have to scan my old photos as digital cameras and computers hadn't been invented then

Dont think I would dare post the ones with the now wife in them though

What do you think? good or bad idea?

Dave....

Yep - I miss my much modified and ultimately written off 1967 Escort 1300 GT (my fault for thinking I was a better driver than I proved to be), my 1964 Renault R8 Gordini (Learnt a lot about how easily a car can spin), my 1972 Capri 3000 and most of all my homologation special 1994 Opel Kadet 200tS (Turbo motor 6 speed box with LSD and brakes and suspension to match the go) which is still one of the iconic performance cars in SA - I still kick myself regularly for selling it.

old cars

My first real car after a frisky three wheeler( 197 villiers power) was a triumph herald.
It was so rotten that the outriggers that supported the body snapped off and lowered the body onto the main chassis . no need to lower the suspension then. I recall I swapped it for a BSA road rocket.
I think that was the best deal I have ever done.
Regards Kipper.

Where did that go?

1st car I had was in 1980, a 73 round arch Midget, miss that most. After that my next fave was a Mk1 Astra GTE and the '87 325SE BMW.
Still miss the S3 SWB Landie but don't miss the 14mpg.
The Kadette C with a Cavalier SRI 130 was fun but I don't miss the scary handling

The Fiesta Supersport used a 1300 crossflow didn't it? A fairly rare beast these days.

Thinking back it was actually badged "1.1S" with the "S" in the same font/style as the 1300 supersport badging. I think you're probably right though the Supersport was 1300 only.

Still a crackin little car though, far from a hot hatch, but looked the part

My first was an 1100 mini clubman estate

Great fun and had some laughs with it.

Im 6'4 and just managed to squeeze into it.

On one occasion late at night pulled into a carpark and there was a guy who was spoiling for a fight saw the mini pull up and thought it would be easy pickings.

Then I uncoiled out the drivers seat and my mate who was an amatuer boxer and also 6'4 uncoiled from the passenger seat.

The look on the blokes face was a picture as he did an about turn and headed off as fast as his legs would carry him
