A good friend of mine has just had his ZS taken to Dreadnought garages for the supercharger conversion and larger throttle body etc. It was plenty quick before, but with getting on for 400bhp it's going to be a hoot.

Mike,

Think you may mean his ZT

And I'd love the Dreadnought conversion but at 6 grand, wife might kick my head in Though those I know of on XPF who've done it have been well chuffed!

I've just been looking for a feature I read about a chap who bought a ZT260 as it didn't look like MG R were going to produce the 385, and iirc took it to SVC who chucked out the engine, stuck in a 32v 5.4l V8, blew it and got 600 bhp!!!

Yes, not a cheap conversion but he loves the car. He bought a brand new Impreza WRX and was so unimpressed that he traded it in against the ZT after 4 months and can't see anything else he'd rather have for simmilar money.

Just spent the day at Brighton Speed Trials (for about the 25th consecutive year) and am still amazed at how slow Imprezas/Evos/F40(and 50), 911 (all incarnations) are circa 14 sec 1/4 miles (the Imp and Evo were about 15 secs).

I've always been a fan of MG Rover and can't understand why anyone would want to spend money on foreign cars (and support their economies (well foreign anything).
